Dancers, Pipe Bands, Solo Pipers & Athletes

A day of Highland dancing, athletics, heavy field events and solo piping competitions, the Argyllshire Gathering's Oban Games is a highlight of the summer for the people of Oban, Argyll and visitors from around the world. As hammers are thrown, cabers are tossed and runners race for the line, the skirl of the pipes fills the air and the flash of clan colours on kilts come in to view.

A great family day out

Highlights include the March of the Stewards led by competing world class pipers, cheering on the runners in the Hill Race, hearing Oban High School Pipe Band entertain the crowds, watching teams fight it out in the Tug of War, fun races for all ages and enjoying tasty local food and drink.

Cost : Adult: £12, Children (under 16): £6
Family: (2 adults, 2 children): £30

Special notes:Disabled parking only at field, park in town the field is a 10 minute walk from centre.

Join us for a musical evening in Dunollie. We will be welcoming a number of traditional Scottish musicians and dancers, whose performances you will be able to enjoy as you wander around our site. You may listen to a variety of beautiful instrument, have a go at some dances yourself and sample some of the Kettle Garden Cafe's light bites and refreshments.

They will also create their own faerie house and beautiful faerie costumes.

Dunollie Museum, Castle & Grounds will exceptionally open it's doors on a Saturday for an afternoon of unique family fun! Drop in for a couple hours at any point between 12pm and 4pm and take part in a range of activties related to Flags and Ropes all around our site. These can include making your own family flag to take home, weaving frames to decorate Dunollie, learning how to use flags for signalling and how to tie knots on ropes, as well as, tug of war and flag racing games!
The Kettle Garden Cafe will be open for refreshments.

This event takes place partly outdoor so please bring warm and waterproof clothing. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs on a lead are welcome in all of Dunollie's outdoor spaces.

In this session, our young participants will explore Dunollie's Historic Woodland Grounds, and play fun guess the plant games as they learn about many of the species that can be found in Dunollie. They will also learn to grow plants themselves and be able to take one home with them as well as make their own bird swing out of wood.

Also Christian organisations and bookstall.
Parking on site
No booking required, you can come to as many or as few meetings as you wish. People come from many parts of the country as well as the local area. The day begins with a time of prayer followed by a break. The morning and evening meetings major on explaining a passage of the Bible and applying it to our lives. In the afternoon various Christian organizations tell about their work. The mix of activities includes stalls, book reviews, and the opportunity to explore ideas with the Speakers, and mingle with everyone taking part.
