Oban’s Spotlight Musical Theatre Group return after their triumph of recent shows including Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’ and Cole Porter’s ‘Anything Goes’ to bring you the moving tale of Tevye and his family in the classic musical ‘Fiddler on the Roof’.
This much-loved show tells the tale of milkman Tevye, a firm believer in traditional Jewish values. The time has come for his elder daughters to find husbands but they have different ideas than their father on who would make an appropriate match. This family tension is mirrored by a nation on the brink of revolution with anti-Semitism growing in Russia under the Tsar. Although set at the turn of the 20th century this tale resonates today with the plight of refugees around the world.
With hits including ‘Tradition’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘If I Were A Rich Man’, this heartfelt story has something for everyone.
The show runs at the Corran Halls from Thursday 21st – Saturday 23rd February 2019 with a preview performance on Wednesday 20th February. Doors open at 7pm with curtain up at 7.30pm each night. Tickets cost £6 for preview night and from £6.50 – £36 for the other performances (adult, concession and family ticket options).
